Ingredients
1 lb ground chuck (80/20 blend)
2 tbsp freshly ground coffee (medium roast)
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp kosher salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
(Optional: ¼ tsp cayenne, pinch of cocoa or cinnamon)

Instructions
1. Make the Coffee Rub: Mix coffee, brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Add cayenne or cocoa if desired.
2. Form Patties: Roll ground beef into loose 2 oz balls.
3. Heat Pan: Preheat cast iron skillet to high heat (around 450°F).
4. Smash & Season: Place a beef ball on the skillet, press down with parchment and a burger press until ¼-inch thick. Season top with coffee rub.
5. Cook & Flip: Cook 45 seconds, then flip and cook 30 seconds more. Add cheese if using.
6. Assemble: Serve on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.
