Easy Roast Beef Sliders Recipe with Melty Cheese and Hawaiian Rolls

  • Author: Feast Of Savory
  • Total Time: 35 minutes

Description

Quick, cheesy, and irresistibly flavorful, these roast beef sliders with horseradish mayo and a buttery glaze are perfect for last-minute gatherings or game-day snacks. Ready in just 35 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sliders:

  • 1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet rolls

  • ½ lb thinly sliced deli roast beef (sub: turkey or ham)

  • 8 slices provolone cheese (sub: Swiss or cheddar)

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tbsp prepared horseradish

  • ¼ cup caramelized onions (optional, but highly recommended)

For the Butter Glaze:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (plant-based works too)

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (sub: honey mustard for milder flavor)

  • ½ tbsp dried minced onion

  • ½ tbsp sesame seeds

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • Optional kick: ½ tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper for faster cleanup (saves ~15 mins!).

Step 2: Slice the Rolls

  • Use a serrated knife to slice the whole sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally—keep them intact.

  • Place the bottom layer into the prepared dish.

Pro tip: Gently press down on the rolls while slicing for an even cut.

Step 3: Make the Horseradish Mayo

  • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and horseradish.

  • Adjust horseradish to taste—start with 1 tbsp if you prefer less heat.

Step 4: Layer the Good Stuff

  • Spread the mayo mixture over the bottom rolls.

  • Add half the cheese, all the roast beef, optional caramelized onions, and the remaining cheese.

💡 The cheese-on-both-sides trick helps keep your sliders from getting soggy!

Step 5: Make the Butter Glaze

  • Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl.

  • Stir in Worcestershire, Dijon mustard, dried onion, sesame seeds, garlic powder, salt (and red pepper flakes if using).

Step 6: Glaze & Assemble

  • Place the top half of rolls on.

  • Brush the butter glaze generously over the tops and sides.

Step 7: Bake

  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

  • Remove foil and bake 5 more minutes until golden and bubbly.

  • Ensure internal temp hits 165°F (74°C) for safety.

Step 8: Rest & Serve

  • Let rest for 5 minutes.

  • Slice along roll lines and serve warm.
